Selecting a performer

When planning my music video, I needed to plan who was going to star in my piece. Using the idea of a star image I needed a person who fits the indie rock/pop look. I wanted someone who would be reliable and would be good at lip syncing as well as performing. I needed someone who was confident but could follow instructions. I felt it would be much easier to cast someone who I am already close with as they would understand my way of thinking and would be able to interpret what I mean much better than someone who doesn’t know me.

Having carried out various research, I decided my friend Jordan was the best person for the role. He has relatively long hair which lends itself to the indie style. He also knows me well and we’re extremely close which will make filming much more efficient. He is understanding which will mean he will work hard as he knows how important his job is. It’s also good that Jordan will be in my music video because he wears clothing that could be considered indie, he is also a similar size and build to me which means if I have any clothes that would look good for the music video he can wear them and it will not look odd. Me and Jordan live relatively close to one another too which means we will be able to arrange days for filming easily. It is also good that Jordan is going to be in my music video because he knows the song “Stressed Out” by Twenty One Pilots and will therefore be able to do the lip syncing much better than someone who doesn’t know the song at all.

I look forward to filming my music video with Jordan and I think he will do a great job. Below I have some images of Jordan and some of the potential outfits for the music video recordings.

This is a head shot I've taken of Jordan. It shows his lip piercing and long hairstyle

Grey hoodie, black jeans and navy parka coat
Dark t-shirt, black jeans and black bomber jacket

Black brogue boots. The shoes Jordan is likely to wear in the majority of the video
